Bob White was the inventor of Wilbur the Wildcat mascot. He illustrated a cartoon in the college's paper outlining the life of this wild character. A student by the name of Ed Stuckenhoff was the 1st ever to don the Wildcat mascot costume. After almost 30 long years, the College of Arizona spotted that this wildcat mascot did not seem complete. After some consideration, they knew Wilbur was in desperate need of a mate! Wilma the Wildcat mascot was then made and the two got married publically. Their marriage promises were recently renewed during a football game in 2006. Wilbur and Wilma are as charming as Mickey & Minnie Mouse.
Being a wildcat mascot and local of Arizona, Wilbur has been known to get into character.
